The American-French Romantic Comedy ‘Emily in Paris’ is Back

The American-French comedy-drama is back this year with an exciting release date, plot and cast!

Emily in Paris

‘Emily in Paris’ has become, by its own merits, one of the most popular, and at the same time, most controversial series in Netflix’s catalogue. The series, created by Darren Starr, was among the top 10 most watched when it premiered and again when its second season was released in December 2021. After these successful seasons, Netflix decided to continue with the third and fourth seasons.

‘Emily in Paris’ tells the story of a college graduate girl who moves from Chicago to Paris and aspires to become a marketing executive at the French company Savoy. This experience allows her to experiment with different cultures, and languages, and meet new people and her love life.

During season two, Emily finds herself in a love triangle. She meets Gabriel, her downstairs neighbour and head chef, and finds herself falling in love with him. Gabriel has a girlfriend, Camille, who also becomes Emily’s friend. Then, Emily meets Alfie, an English banker who is in her French class. They meet and fall in love after Emily and Gabriel break off their romantic relationship.

Later, Emily makes better connections with work, while in the season finale, Sylvie resigns with plans to open her own marketing firm and invites Emily to join the team. Alfie leaves Paris and returns to London. The long-distance relationship with Alfie causes Emily to struggle, and she expresses her love for Gabriel. In the finale, Gabriel returns to Camile. Emily doesn’t know what to do, and the series leaves us with an intriguing ending where Emily has to decide whether to stay in Paris or not.

‘Emily in Paris Season 3’: Plot

Emily in Paris

There’s a brief summary of what we are going to find in the third season, and it says, “A year after moving from Chicago to Paris for her dream job, Emily finds herself at a crucial crossroads in every aspect of her life. Faced with two very different paths, Emily will have to decide exactly where her loyalties lie – at work and in her romantic life – and what those decisions mean for her future in France.” “Emily finds herself at a crossroads during the third season concerning her love life and career. She will also have to make important decisions regarding her love triangle with Alfie and Gabriel.

The summary ends, “All while still immersing herself in the adventures and surprising twists and turns that life in Paris provides.” This means that Emily’s stay in Paris will lead to more adventures, for sure.

During an interview, Lilly Collins said, “Season 3 gives the other characters a chance to develop their characters.” It seems that for this upcoming season, “Emily in Paris” will focus on the supporting characters, as they will have the opportunity to grow.
