Images of the world captured from space merged into a single print are featured in Diesel’s Pre-Fall 2023 collection, providing a visual reminder of the global dieselization mission Glenn Martens initiated when he joined the brand two years ago.
Fashion house Diesel has unveiled its latest Pre-Fall 2023 collections for women and men, with themes related to Earth and another world. Blended with a futuristic vision of the brand, creative director Glenn Martens launches his collections to embody Maison’s usual confidence, glamour and true Diesel style. The lookbook has been photographed by Arnaud Lajeunie, styling by Ursina Gysi, hair styling by Dushan Petrovich, makeup by Stephanie Kunz and casting by Isabel Bush.
“The rebellious, nonconformist and futuristic Diesel attitude is through line for the Pre-Fall 2023. Forever epitomized by iconic Diesel Red, the colour bleeds into the collection on gradient knit dresses in a slim, zip-up, hooded silhouette and black-distressed denim lined in a touch of red.” – Diesel.
Diesel Pre-Fall celebrates its roots with a new vision for Glenn Martens, emphasizing that “our shows are more for fashion people, and our Pre-Fall collection is trying to speak to everyone; my brother, my mother, high school teens…the whole world.” She continued, “It’s pushing the envelope, no-nonsense. Sexy and fun.”
The collection features tight-fitting tops paired with baggy jeans, cropped details, long denim dresses, long hooded dresses, and crossover dresses.
Denim becomes the star in most of the pieces and footwear. There are oversized denim jackets and pants, frayed cowboy hats and more.
The Diesel logo is embroidered on everything from T-shirts, boxer briefs, zippers, bras and more.
This collection focuses on “authentic everyday fashion.” and the brand’s heritage that characterizes the brand. Fashion pieces have been designed with Diesel’s confidence and charisma but with their own personality. ‘When you see them, you know they are from our Diesel universe,” says Martens.
Glenn Martens has also reintroduced its iconic B-1DR belt with accessories such as mini bags. Martens also specializes in Diesel-exclusive belt accessories. For Pre-Fall 2023, models wrapped their hips with thick metallic leather straps and extra wide belts. All are adorned with the iconic Diesel “D” logo. Also, the brand introduces belts with double-ring eyelets and adult versions of Hot-Topic punk pieces. Martens also accessorizes low-slung, YK2-inspired midi skirts with low-slung skinny belts (more decorative than functional.)
