A review of the most outstanding outfits of the 75th edition of the iconic film competition, which was held on the French Riviera.
The 2022 Cannes Film Festival swept everything away. And as expected, the red carpet hosted some of the most outstanding designs of the season. From May 16 to 28, the most important film event of the year was held, which, as is customary, included some of the most established figures in the industry.
The theme of the iconic red carpet seemed to be focused on extravagance. The transparencies, the pronounced necklines, the ruffles and the feathers conquered the days of the contest through exuberant outfits that had nothing to envy to the best outfits in the history of the festival.
Despite the fact that the extravagant took precedence over simplicity, we could also see some striking beauty proposals. The best beauty looks on the Cannes 2022 in particular were such an exciting moment since we could see celebrities combining personal styles and today’s trends – think current hair colour trends with classic updos, subversive styles and seasonal chic makeup.
From Kaia Geber to Alicia Vikander, here we have curated some sparkling beauty looks that our favourite celebrities carried on the red carpet with full confidence and glamour.
KAIA GERBER
Kaia Gerber looked stunning and super glamorous on the red carpet. She opted for a natural beauty look matching with a glamorous dress. For Elvis’ Cannes Film Festival, Gerber’s soft, matte skin and bushy brows were followed by her relaxed updo — which, of course, contrasted with her custom poppy-red Celine gown.
ANNE HATHAWAY
The 39-year-old Oscar winner made her Cannes debut this year at the premiere of her film “Doomsday.” The American actress walked the red carpet in an Armani Privé dress, Bulgari necklace and Santoni shoes. She kept her makeup subtle for a more natural look and left her hair down.
EVA LONGORIA
Eva Longoria looked stunning in her artfully-undone ponytail with plenty of volume at the crown and shoulder-skimming tendrils, an excellent pairing choice with her sheer, tiered gown. Her cat-eye makeup brought all the drama on the red carpet, making her shine and look incredible. She also dressed up her lips in a lovely-rose tinted shade.
ELSA HOSK
Elsa Hosk dazzled at Cannes with an homage to Marilyn Monroe’s Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. From Hung Vanngo’s bronzed-pink glamour to Danielle Priano’s delicate hair updo, the model’s glamour was graced with her reimagined Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend look and itwas amazing.
BELLA HADID
The supermodel looked like a modern version of Tchaikovsky’s Odette, bringing serious drama to the Chopard Loves Cinema gala with her gently-winged liner, bouncy bow-wrapped ponytail, and moody, gelled bangs. She looked totally gorgeous!
FRIDA AASEN
The supermodel walked on the red carpet at Forever Young Premiere at 75th Annual Cannes Film Festival. She wore bronzed make-up, red lips and a messy up-do coupled with her incredible Chopard earrings and necklace.
ELLE FANNING
Elle Fanning looked sweet and cute with her pale pink lacy bow makeup, which held side-swept Old Hollywood curls back while acting as an extension of her jewel-encrusted Armani gown. She also continued the classic starlet theme with a retro wing of inky liquid eyeliner and a subdued red lip.
ALICIA VIKANDER
Alicia Vikander looked sleek and shimmering on the Cannes red carpet. She paired her intricate, metallic bronze gown with a soft smoky eye and a cool, brushed-back topknot. She wore a radiant makeup look courtesy of celebrity stylist Kelly Cornwall. To bring the look to life, the stylist used Chantecaille products, shimmering bronze and taupe eyeshadow singles to bring the look to life.
