The brand presents a spring and summer menswear collection characterized by an array of neutral hues.
Dolce&Gabbana has just unveiled its Spring-Summer 2024 Menswear collection, epitomizing the essence of style. Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce find themselves in a reflective state, contemplating concepts of identity and striving to create a lasting and recognizable legacy. They are also pondering the transient nature of fashion trends.
For the upcoming Spring/Summer 2024 season, Dolce&Gabbana introduces a range of meticulously tailored ensembles designed for men who appreciate an elegant and ethereal aesthetic. The collection showcases fabrics that sculpt the body and incorporate transparent elements, juxtaposed with heavier materials.
The colour palette prominently features white, black, grey, camel, and brown, which make a striking impression. In this latest collection, flowers take centre stage and are skilfully incorporated alongside brooches. They serve as faithful companions to Domenico and Stefano’s designs, offering a timeless and indispensable reference to spring. When combined with delicate pieces, the flowers evoke an overall sense of gentleness that permeates the entire collection.
Dolce&Gabbana creates a collection that captures the innate style of a sophisticated and enlightened gentleman. This season, quilted garments take a prominent position in D&G’s lineup. “Embracing a spirit of innovation and craftsmanship, the padded pieces redefine volume with a harmonious blend of exploration, aesthetics, and technology,” the brand shared.
“The credit card is an indicator, a symbol of identity. You are its sole owner, it’s about being who you are. Style is also about having a strong identity, solid foundations,” explained Stefano. “‘Style’ is quite different from ‘fashion.’ So, we’ve tried to do something new, but within the codes of our own style, keeping it firm and recognizable while evolving,” Domenico chimed in.
With the unveiling of this collection, Domenico and Stefano can rest assured that they have made a lasting impact. Men’s fashion has always served as a medium for self-expression for the duo, and for the Spring/Summer season, they have delved into their repertoire to present a series of familiar elements, reimagined with a fresh and simplified approach. Among the notable features are a sleeveless T-shirt, their signature black colour, the Coppola hat, the rosary, lace, transparency, and references to Sicily, among others. They explained, “Above all, it’s the cut and construction of our tailoring that matters.”
The collection showcases a slim silhouette, occasionally incorporating looser cuts while maintaining a gentle and fluid aesthetic. Notably, prints are scarce, except for polka dots on a sheer chiffon blouse adorned with a bow. The collection also highlights sensual transparencies, organza flowers, sleeveless T-shirts reimagined as bustiers, and fitted T-shirts paired with high-waisted flowing trousers.
