The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hosts an annual Governors Awards ceremony to honour some lifetime winners. Although the event is not televised, it attracts many people to the red carpet, including presenters, award winners and film industry luminaries.

This year’s Governors’ Awards honoured Michael J. Fox, Euzhan Palcy and Peter Weir for their work as actors, writers and directors. The gala was held at the Fairmont Century Plaza.
