It’s the first Monday in May, which means the annual Met Gala is here once again. Last year, the theme, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” was all about American fashion, with gilded glamour as the dress code. This year’s theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” is an ode to the late designer known for his work at Chanel, Fendi, Chloé, and his namesake line, Karl Lagerfeld. The dress code, then, is fitting: in honour of Karl.
Last year, celebrities took the gilded glamour theme in many different directions, including tons of intricate headpieces. So, it’s interesting to see how folks interpreted the night’s theme.
This year our favourite Hollywood A-listers, celebrities, influencers, and supermodels dazzled at the event, wearing stunning beauty looks ever seen. All the stars definitely made their very best to look effortlessly gorgeous at the Met Gala 2023. Some of them opted for more extravagant beauty looks, while others were divided between those who opted for glam make-up, choosing whether to emphasise the lips or the eyes more. Think of Cardi B’s silver-toned bob with flipped ends, tied with a leather hairband, Rita Ora’s sultry smokey eye, texture curls and chic nail design or Rihanna’s powerful red lipstick.

EMMA CHAMBERLAIN
Met Gala correspondent Emma Chamberlain was gorgeous in sleek strands and a headband. The newest face of Lancôme is in her blue period, wearing a gorgeous navy and periwinkle smoky eye and matching headband.
PENELOPE CRUZ
Cruz looked every inch the Chanel bride with glowing skin and soft glam makeup. The Academy Award-winning actress wore her hair sleek, and centre parted. Her lit-from-within glow was courtesy of Charlotte Tilbury.
CARDI B
As usual, the singer wore an incredible fashion and beauty look on the red carpet. For the occasion, she changed her black hair for a chic silver-toned bob with flipped ends, tied with a leather hairband. “Cardi always embodies not only elegance but her unconventional sense of style,” La’Pearl said of the look in a press release.
ANOK YAI
Anok Yai stunned on the Met Gala 2023 red carpet as she wore a glow-glam beauty look (done by makeup artist Sheika Daley.), including a luminous skin prepped and hydrated by Lancome.
GIGI HADID
A very blonde Gigi Hadid wore a semi-collected, relaxed hairstyle. In addition, in terms of makeup, the artist wore soft silvery eyeshadow and a single pearl centred under the lower lash line of each eye to denote her look to the fullest and make her radiant and flawless skin.
BILLIE EILISH
The singer dazzled on the Met Gala 2023 red carpet wearing a classic goth and dark feminine style. She complimented her outfit by wearing her hair parted down the middle and finesses into an intricate tight and voluminous braid, adorned with black ribbons and a complete outline that made her made look amazing on the carpet.
